Ans. For an introvert like me, talking is an actual skill that only a few people have. I can definitely tell you about someone who’s a champion chatterbox. This would be my old college buddy, Venkat, a.k.a Venky. We met in our first freshman-year seminar, and let me tell you, that was an experience! Venky sat right next to me, and from the moment the professor uttered the first word, it was like a dam had burst. He had a story about literally everything – the professor’s shoes, the weird stain on the ceiling, you name it, and he goes on.
Venky is a fountain of knowledge on the most peculiar subjects. One minute, he’s explaining the spork’s history; the next, he’s launching into a passionate tirade about the best places to find a decent grilled cheese sandwich in the city. It’s both bewildering and strangely delightful.
I remember we decided to hike one day, hoping to enjoy some peace in nature. But with Venky around, silence was a luxury we couldn’t afford.
As we trudged through the woods, Venky kept up a running commentary on everything from the weather to the shape of the clouds. When we finally reached this stunning lookout point, we could have a moment of quiet awe. But nope, not with Venky. He looks at the view and says, “Would you look at that? It reminds me of the time I went skydiving…”
I couldn’t help but laugh. With Venky, there’s never a dull moment, even in the middle of nowhere.
Don’t get me wrong—sometimes, I must gently remind Venky that conversations are a two-way street. But honestly, his enthusiasm is infectious. He has a way of finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, and his zest for life is truly inspiring. Plus, you never know what fascinating fact you might learn from him next. He’s like a walking trivia night waiting to happen!
So, while Venky might hold the record for most words spoken in a single sitting, his genuine curiosity and friendly spirit make him a one-of-a-kind friend.
