Indian students constitute a quarter of all international students in the UK and now, the Prime Ministers of both governments have taken this to a new level by unveiling a reciprocal scheme that allows up to 3000 young Indian Professionals to work and live in the UK for up to 2 years.
Rishi Sunak commented, “I am pleased that even more of India’s brightest young people will now have the opportunity to experience all that life in the UK has to offer – and vice-versa – making our economies and societies richer.”
There is an existing Youth Mobility Scheme for young people from Iceland, San Marino, New Zealand, Monaco, Canada and Australia and a Youth Mobility Scheme ballot for young people from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong in existence but India is the first country, from among the visa national countries, to benefit from the Young Professionals Exchange Program.
